Amara-Tropfen is used for functional digestive disorders, such as loss of appetite and heartburn. The preparation relieves feelings of heaviness, fullness, and nausea after a meal and activates the secretion of digestive juices.

The medicine is used for functional disturbances in the synthesis and secretion of digestive juices, as well as for motor disorders of the stomach and small intestine and the resulting conditions - heartburn, lack of appetite, nausea, and a feeling of heaviness after a meal.

Weleda Amara-Tropfen is a composition of 9 medicinal plants that contain bitter substances. The bitter substances have tonic, appetite-stimulating, and activating properties on the secretion of saliva and gastric juices (pepsin, hydrochloric acid). Additionally, the bitter substances have a positive effect on the motility of the stomach and small intestine.

Usage:

Bitter drops should not be taken in cases of hypersensitivity to chicory or other members of the daisy family, or by infants under 1 year of age, as there is insufficient documented experience. Individuals with liver disease should only take the bitter drops after consulting with a doctor.

For lack of appetite, take the bitter drops 15 minutes before a meal. For a digestive process disorder and symptoms such as nausea or a feeling of heaviness, take the bitter drops 1 hour after a meal to improve digestion, preferably diluted in water.

  • Children 6 to 11 years: 5-8 drops
  • Children 1 to 5 years: 3-5 drops.
