A stye (hordeolum) is often a reaction to a bacterial infection of the lacrimal gland. A purulent inflammation may develop on a sweat gland or a sebaceous gland inside the eyelid. The first sign is a grain-sized, red swelling on the eyelid or eyelid edge, which is often very painful and later becomes purulent.

The combination of eyebright, calendula, and echinacea alleviates the characteristic symptoms of styes and conjunctivitis. Eyebright is effective for treating itching, burning, pain, redness, and tearing caused by an inflammatory process in the eye. Calendula and echinacea have an anti-inflammatory effect, promote the healing process, and strengthen local immunity.

Indications:

• Conjunctivitis
• Blepharitis, characterized by sticky discharge in the morning, which makes it difficult to open the eyes
• Chalazion, which is mostly characterized by a painless nodular swelling on the eyelid edge
• Acute and recurrent styes, characterized by a painful purulent inflammatory process

Usage:

The eye ointment should not be used in case of hypersensitivity to its components or plants of the Asteraceae family. Can be used from 0 months of age. Apply to the eye or eyelids several times a day.

Side effects: Local hypersensitivity or intolerance reactions - burning, pain, tearing, eye redness, swelling, itching, as well as general immunological reactions - skin rash and/or itching.
